The Bromeliaceae plant emanates from the family of monocot flowering plants. There are around 3590 known species, which are native to the tropical Americas. Some species are also found in the American subtropics and Africa. Bromeliads are relatively slow-growing plants that thrive best in bright light without direct sun exposure.
